Speaker Spotlight: Pam Udy

“Every woman should feel supported in her births and empowered through those births to become a strong, beautiful mother.”

I was so excited when Pam agreed to speak at the conference. Having been a birth junkie for the past 14+ years, I had heard Pam's name floating around for years and years. If you are pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant, you HAVE to go to Pam's classes! The one on VBAC especially is one not to miss, whether you've already had a cesarean or not.

Pam and her husband were married in the Manti Temple (almost) nineteen years ago. They have five children ranging in age from 17 to 6. The first two were scheduled cesareans at 38 weeks due to impatience and ignorance. The next three were natural, vaginal births, with one being born at home.

Pam spends her days being with her children, having fun, learning, teaching, growing, cleaning, reading and laughing. “Homeschooling is the greatest joy and the greatest challenge rolled up in one big eggroll.”

Pam has a late night, part-time job doing housekeeping in the Salt Lake Temple. “I’m doing a little different work than you usually do when you come to the temple, but the Spirit is always there. It is wonderful, while vacuuming, to tune into the Spirit. It is a blessing to be in the Lord’s house several times a week.”

Pam loves to read everything ‘of good report’. She especially loves anything LDS or birth related. She also loves to write and recently started her own blog: thepersonalexperienceexpert.blogspot.com.

Pam is a woman who believes in claiming her age (she’ll be 39 at the conference). “Claim it and be excited. Each year is a blessing from God. Every year has brought me new experiences, new growth, new learning.”
